Coulomb Technologies, Pima Association of Governments’ Clean Cities Program, and Bookmans Entertainment Exchange announce Tucson’s second ChargePoint Networked Charging Stations at Bookmans Entertainment Exchange

Tucson, AZ December 22, 2009 – Coulomb Technologies, Bookmans Entertainment Exchange and Pima Association of Governments’ Clean Cities program today announced the groundbreaking of Tucson’s second ChargePoint® Networked Charging Station for Electric Vehicles. Located at Bookmans Entertainment Exchange at Ina and Thornydale in Tucson, the charging station is the second installation at Bookmans retailing locations. The first unveiling took place on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the Bookmans Tucson location at Grant and Campbell.

“Arizona has made a significant commitment to lowering carbon emissions and reducing our dependence on imported oil,” said Richard Lowenthal, CEO of Coulomb Technologies. “Throughout 2009, we have worked closely with the Tucson Regional Clean Cities Coalition to raise awareness of the need for infrastructure for electric vehicles. The opening of the second location of networked charging stations is another step in bringing electric vehicles to the masses in Arizona.”

“This is just another step in helping to ensure electric vehicle charging is available, easy to use and helps us to reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil,” said Tucson Regional Clean Cities Manager Colleen Crowninshield.

Pima Association of Governments is an association of local, state and tribal governments with a mission to build consensus among its members and the public on regional planning for transportation, air quality and water quality.

Clean Cities is a voluntary program of the U.S. Department of Energy to expand the use of alternatives to gasoline and diesel fuel, accelerate the use of alternative fuel vehicles and build a local refueling infrastructure for these vehicles.
