Coulomb Technologies Congratulates Ecotality’s eTec on $100 Million DOE Grant for EV Infrastructure

CAMPBELL, Calif. August 6, 2009 – Coulomb Technologies congratulates Electric Transportation Engineering Corporation (eTec), a subsidiary of ECOtality (OTCBB: ETLY), on the award of their U.S. Department of Energy grant of approximately $99.8 million. The grant will allow eTec to undertake the largest deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure in U.S. history. eTec will install electric vehicle charging infrastructure and deploy up to 1,000 Nissan battery electric vehicles in five states: Arizona , California , Oregon , Tennessee , and Washington and install approximately 12,500 Level 2 (220V) charging systems and 250 Level 3 (fast-charge) systems.

“Coulomb extends our heartfelt congratulations to the team at eTec,” said Richard Lowenthal, CEO of Coulomb Technologies. “Significant adoption of electric vehicles has taken a giant leap forward thanks to their work. Coulomb is proud and honored to be included as a charging partner for the grant and we are looking forward to doing our part to realize the eTec vision.”
