We are currently seeking the following people to work with us in developing our industry leading networked charging stations for plug-in vehicles.
New Product Introduction Engineer
The New Product Introduction (NPI) engineer will be the technical owner within operations, responsible for all aspects of the development of a new product from the prototype phase through to volume production at local and offshore contract manufacturers.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Represent manufacturing and operations in all cross functional meetings, and function as the operations project manager for new product development and releases.
- Work with design engineering and contract manufacturing partners to ensure that design for manufacturability, design for test, and design for service requirements are developed, implemented and validated.
- Establish plans and timelines for prototype, pilot, and production release builds. Manage internal and external resources to ensure that these builds proceed smoothly and on schedule. Train and supervise assembly and test technicians during internal prototype builds and pilot builds at the CM.
- Responsible for the tracking and resolution of all DFM, quality, mfg process, and reliability issues. Drive internal and external corrective action plans. Create and implement engineering change orders.
- Design and perform tests and experiments as required to identify root cause of manufacturing process and test related problems, and drive these issues to closure.
- Review all new custom part documentation. Work with design engineering and mfg partners to verify that tolerances, and inspection and quality specifications are clear, comprehensive, and appropriate.
- Provide material and component selection support to R&D and help in the selection of mfg processes and suppliers.
- Work with design engineering, supply chain management, and finance to ensure that cost targets are clearly understood and tracked during development and production ramp.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4-year BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess an engineering level understanding of the design, manufacturing, test, and inspection of mechanical and electronic parts and assemblies. Specifically die castings, injection moldings, extrusions, sheet metal, machined parts, printed circuit boards, and cable assemblies.
- 3-5 yrs recent experience as an NPI or Manufacturing Engineer, transitioning designs into production at local and offshore contract manufacturers.
- Experience with BOM configuration and change management processes and tools, such as Arena and Agile.
- Experience with part specification standards for mechanical and electronic assemblies.
- Hands on experience with mechanical and electronic fabrication and inspection tools and processes.
- Must have demonstrated strong project management experience, and excellent problem solving skills and creativity in developing sound technical solutions to a variety of design, manufacturing and operations problems.
- Knowledge of standard quality assurance tools and processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to work with and influence engineers, technicians, quality and supply chain professionals, and executives, both internally and at manufacturing partners.
- The motivation and drive required to bring complex products into volume production, while achieving cost, schedule and quality goals in a very demanding start-up environment.
Senior Embedded Engineer
We are seeking experienced embedded developers with the following skill set:
- 4+ years of development in the Linux environment
- Experience with Linux internals (kernel, file system, uboot, bootloader)
- Experience developing device drivers
- Experience developing embedded applications
- Experience networking protocols a strong plus
Responsibilities include:
- Working as part of the embedded team to enhance and maintain the embedded software.
- Developing enhancements to the Linux kernel, uboot, bootloader, and device drivers
- Developing system software
- Developing application software
